Getting to know John:
I am a results-driven leader known for charting clear paths to mission success and executing with precision. My career spans high-impact initiatives across diverse environments from Global Leading (Fortune 100) brand names we all know (AWS, Philips, Cisco, Buhler), Fortune 500 companies (Stryker, Computer Associates (CA)) and government agencies (NAVWAR (SPAWAR), Defense Acquisition University [Pentagon Training Arm](DAU)) to educational institutions (Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI), SoftEd, NC State McKimmon Center continuing education), startups, and nonprofits. I lead simple to complex modernizations, adoptions, transformations, drive revenue, reduce costs, and succeed where others have faltered… often after repeated attempts. Bottom line, my leadership helps the organization achieve its financial goals while improving operations, and strengthening customer relationships while completing the mission.
My background includes serving as a Sonar Supervisor and “Super Tech” aboard U.S. Fast Attack Submarines, navigating and piloting various deep submergence assets. These foundations helped shape my leadership approach. As a full-time employee or consultant, I bring strategic, tactical, and hands-on leadership to every engagement.

Think of it this way, an organization’s most critical resource is its people, how they think and do. When an organization undergoes change, what happens with its people? Everyone is going to have to observe, absorb, shape, and put into action, thinking and doing in a new way by comparing and contrasting the current state to the future state.
Self-Realization = observe , absorb
Self-Actualization = shape, put into action (evolve)
Everyone’s moment of Self-Realization, when they self realize that they have to change, will come at a different time. Next comes Self-Actualization, the understanding of what changes they need to make and putting those changes into action which will occur when the individual is ready to change.
